The Sandhills

I drop the anchor at the edge of the shallow water, tidy the lines, fix a cup of tea and wait for the performance. No patience is needed. The birds and fish provide distractions. The main event is often at the end of the day – for practical reasons. As the sun drops the colour of the light expands it’s palette . With luck, the weather will be bad so the forms and colours of the sky are enough for anyone.

So it is with the islands. The weather will show you what is possible.

The thing is to be there and watch.

It would serve us well to pay more attention to the weather.
